Proposal abstract

The aim of the STREP HHS - Hereditary Hybrid Societies is a prototype for the mixed human-machine environments and interfaces with knowledge accumulation and exchange.

The objective is to realise synergies through the novel artificial intelligence studies and the autonomous software agent technologies. The proposed idea comes from analysis of needs of current application software systems, which are to become more intellectual e.g. automated knowledge acquisition and accumulation, knowledge communication, global distribution of information, computations and applications.

The strategy of our R&D-activities in HHS is developed from signals, signal acquisition, classification and recognition in to knowledge, administered by the DB&KMS, designed as communicative system, acquiring the knowledge from the leading experts.

The developed system is designed as Computer Aided System e.g. as communicative system supports the user in optimal manner. The experienced user is able to integrate his own capability and knowledge in the system and is responsible for the results. Web access to relevant publications and knowledge are integrated. This is the innovative way to new knowledge. The system is designed as Grid. Open Source Software - OSS - especially in the field of Grid-technology and knowledge management are used. The results of the R&D-activities are offered as OSS.

The consortium has 7 partners from 5 European countries. Two partners are high ranked universities, one is an international and established institute with experience in intelligent technologies. Four partners are SME’s in the field of information and communication technologies as developers and driving force for dissemination and exploitation activities.
