e-ISOTIS

In brief, the scope of e-ISOTIS is to support the People with Disabilities and older persons to overcome the existing barriers and to experience an Information Society Open to ImpairmentS (ISOTIS). e-ISOTIS is a non-profit making organization that brings together people with disabilities, their spouses as well as members of the ICT (Information Communication Technology) community from the whole globe. It co-operates closely with National Associations of People with Disabilities as well as with Universities, ICT companies and public authorities in many European countries, having as such links to more than 360,000 people with disabilities.

CV of the key person Mrs. Zoe Apostolopoulou as Dissemination Manager

is the legal representative of e-ISOTIS and she is a lawyer with postgraduate studies in European Law and with specialisation on equality, antidiscrimination and European court. She is the author of books and articles dealing with the operation of European court, legal rights of people of Disabilities and issues for independent living and civil and human rights. She is also an individual member of the European Disability Forum, the largest umbrella organisation of federations of associations of people with disabilities in Europe.

 

CV of the key person Mr. Nikolaos Floratos

is as an experienced project manager in ICT and RTD projects. He is a senior ICT scientist and project manager with a rich experience of more than 7 years in management and execution of projects with the European Commission. He has participated in the 4th, 5th and 6th Framework Programme as project manager and researcher. Indicatively, in IRIS – Incorporating People with Special Needs into Internet Based Applications and Services, eHUB – True Collaborative Virtual Teams, XAUDIO – Interactive Mobile Application Services, ASK-IT – Ambient Intelligence System of Agents for Knowledge-based and Integrated Services for Mobility Impaired Users and in several other projects funded by the European Commission. He has also completed postgraduate studies in Communications & Signal Processing as well as in Business Administration with specialisation in conduction of business plans and ICT issues. He is a member in various committees for e-accessibility and design for all issues. More specifically, he is representing ANEC, the European Voice in standardisation, as well as the Greek national association of consumers, EKPOIZO in ICT issues.

 

CV of the key person Mr. Karel Van Isacker 

possesses an MBA and a Diploma in Applied Economic Sciences with specialisation in International Management from the University Faculties Saint Ignatius Antwerp. He acquired experience in Belgian ICT consulting projects and acted as Product Manager for several e-commerce projects in Belgium that were focused on making Belgian SMEs acquainted with Internet applications. He also worked as Internet analyst in the development and successful launch of new e-commerce initiatives for SDWorx, Belgian’s biggest social secretariat. He has furthermore extensive experience in multimedia and electronic commerce applications, and in the managing of various projects related with e-Government (ICTE-PAN, INTELCITIES, etc.). He is also an experienced eTen, FP5 and FP6 project manager and accrued recently extensive experience in applying the semantic paradigm to collaborative (P2P) applications (SATINE) and the multi-channel delivery of semantically enriched e-Health content (COCOON). He currently works closely together with e-ISOTIS in European Community projects that involve the accessible design and development of mobility devices (e.g. ASK-IT), while he has been heavily involved in e-learning activities (SLIM-VRT, EURIDICE, MOTRASUP, etc.).
