Description of the foundation CITIC

  

CITIC (Andalusian Centre of Innovation and Technologies of Information and Communications) is a quality oriented Technological Center in Andalusia, founded in March 2002 as a non profit private foundation, made up of 34 companies and public institutions.

Our mission is to stimulate and strenghten the processes of national/international innovation and technological development by promoting important projects in the IT and communication sector.

Within the U.E., Andalucia figure like a region objective 1. Our center, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia, gathers 34 companies and public institutions, all leaders in the spanish technology/IT/communications (IST) sector, covering the whole territory of Andalusia (87,597 km2; 7,500,000 inhabitants).

 

Experience in different areas and further details:

Ø      Telemedicina: An important, current project which will interconnect the andalusian sanitary institutions as well as the public ones (like Hospitals, Medical Centers, Social Security, community office, authorities etc.).
CITIC contributes experience of many years in handling and evaluation of the biological signals and Ekg's, as well as the use and the evaluation of bio monitors, wireless technology, sanitation apparatuses and measuring techniques).
CITIC cooperates directly with the local authorities as well as with the Andalusian Federal State Government (for example: Ministry for work and economics, Ministry for Health, Ministry for science and technology).

Ø      Development and introduction of the new technologies.

Ø      Closest co-operation with the Innovation Relay Center in Andalusia (more than 8 years), responsible, among other things, for the internal spreading of technologies and for the advanced training of our personnel.

Ø      Closest co-operation between universities, companies and other technology centers (for example RAITEC: www.raitec.es).

Ø      Numerous projects (I+D+I) of the IST sector.

Ø       Establishment of demonstration centers which will facilitate the introduction of the new technologies in all possible sectors of the economy.

Ø      Consulting - service (in the sector IST and environment).
