IDEC
is a consulting company that conducts:
- regional development and environmental protection studies
- waste management studies
- applied research or studies on the introduction of a specific technology
- quality system implementations (ISO9000, ISO14000, HACCP)
- sectorial studies/surveys, as well as, sectorial training needs research and
analysis
- diagnostic and feasibility studies in companies, and business plans
- research on learning, training and management issues
- software developing and Internet applications
that respond to citizens, entreprises and municipalities needs.
Members of IDEC have participated in the Greek inter-ministerial Committee for
policy making on subjects of training to 40 different sectors, in matters of:
- passive energy saving and reduction of CO2.
- use of renewable energy sources in the fields of construction and industry
They also were involved in the application of such technologies.
IDEC has also extensive contacts with:
- CRES: the Greek national centre for Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Rational
Use of Energy (RUE) and Energy Saving (ES)
- Forest Research Institute of Athens
IDEC's engineers have realised of a series of studies concerning "Waste
Management Treatment" and "Environmental consequences" for
several local authorities, and worked in co-operation with them for the
implementation of the studies’ proposals (Local Authorities Development

Our experience in previous european programmes has taught us that it is very
crucial (both for the approval as well as for the progress of a project) to
develop applications that have the chance to be implemented in real life.
Relative 5th framework Projects that we have participated in, are:
EESD
PREDAC– Updating of enterprises on matters connected to the Renewable Energy
Sources (RES), Promotion of job/activities creation in relation to RES, Exchange
of RES Technology.
SUN-Tool – Development of an environmental modelling tool that enables
planners to identify the site configuration, building façade design and
combination of renewable and low energy technologies that minimises net energy,
water consumption and waste production, at the community scale.
IST
e-Living- Life in a Digital Europe: Large-scale comparative panel study for the
description and
explanation of the behaviour relating to the uptake and usage of information and
communications technology (ICT) at the domestic level.
e-BSAN-
e-Business Service Accounting Network: Creation of a virtual and global
community
for e-consulting services for SMEs and public sector.
WebSET-
Web-based Standard Education Tools: Development of advanced Web-based
technologies to implement innovative cost-effective learning tools.
SILK-System
Integration via Logic & Knowledge: Development of a knowledge management
tool-set for software systems integration tasks.
EduCAT-
Education Content Assembly Tool: Testbed of a new, innovative, multimedia
toolset
by educators who will evaluate the functionality, acceptability and usability of
the toolset by
using it to produce interactive education software.
