Fuzzy logic is a mathematical theory which, despite having been in existence for over 25 years, has only just recently been properly recognised and accepted. Now that systems based on this theory are available it is possible to express complex human decision-making processes mathematically and therefore simulate them using a computer. Human concepts such as "how big?", "sometimes" or "easy" can be expressed in mathematical form.

Even in cases where it is difficult to deal with a question mathematically (because of the many problems caused by variable input parameters and the partial contradictions resulting from stipulations placed on the size of the result) with the help of fuzzy logic it is often possible to display visible results within a very short time. This ability to produce quick results now means that fuzzy logic is gaining in its appeal to small and medium sized companies.

Complex system specifications are achieved, virtually without programming expense and merely by implementing voice recognition commands. A complex system can be developed simply by entering commands in clear text - which contrasts markedly with the mathematical algorithms which have until now been the only feasible method. Such a system is also easy for an outside observer to follow.
