SAGO Spa, founded in 1971 with both public and private capital, is a company developing information systems for  health care services. The SAGO private shareholders are very important software Italian companies: Etnoteam Spa, Uniteam Spa and Engineering Spa.

SAGO has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Universities and Scientific Research as a Highly Qualified Laboratory for Applied Research and is ISO 9001 certified.

SAGO turnover (2002)  is about 2.700.000 euro, SAGO  personnel is 41 persons, principally IT professionals , economists and statisticians.

SAGO activities are focused on Hospitals and Health Organizations and Associations.

Products and service offered by SAGO are:

Manager of R&D Sago Departement

Electronic Engineer, he operates in Sago since 1972. Presently, he is the manager of the Sago Research & Development Division, and he is responsible for large research and education projects, carried both within national and European programs.

He was/is responsible for several large computer-based education projects and CBT-oriented research projects:

- Didanursing: CBT courseware for Nursing personnel

- Multimedial Hypertext Author System for Health Education

- HyperLab: Multimedia Enciclopedia for medical Labs

- Medical Images Reference Database for research & teaching purposes

- Courseware on “Health organization & management principles” for Health manager

- Sim@s-net: Education program in Computer Assisted Cooperative Work for Health managers 

- E-learning education  models and tools for  health professionals  engaged in in the care of  disable people.

He is lecturer/speaker in several education programs for I&CT researchers and health personnel, promoted by Ministries, Health Authorities, Scientific Societies, University Departments, National Research Organizations, private Companies.

He was recently (2001) charged to design and start the Sago Centre for Distance Learning (www.ecmnet.it), which includes an advanced  E-Leaning Platform (Distance Learning Management System), and services for supporting health professionals in e-learning programs (distance learning project management,  instructional design,  authoring support, tutoring, platform maintenance, education credits account, etc.).
