COMPANY PROFILE

ATS Bilişim Danışmanlık Hizmetleri Tic. Ltd. Şti. is a software solutions provider for businesses, established in 2000.  Following technological advances in computational biology, ATS Bioinformatics Research and Development has recently been founded as a division of ATS Bilişim Danışmanlık Hizmetleri Tic. Ltd. Şti. with the aim of providing analysis tools, models and internet solutions for biological sciences in Turkey and Europe.

With full-time and part-time employees from all backgrounds, including computer scientists, biomedical engineers, physicists, biochemists and molecular biologists, we are currently developing genome analysis tools, as well as computer models of intracellular signaling events and metabolic pathways for biotechnology, medical and pharmaceutical industry.

Our most recent ongoing research that we would like to incorporate into PatiMon is the establishment of the Turkish Cancer Research Network.   This is a platform that will bring together clinicians, doctors, patients, molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, biochemists and students together for the exchange of information and models, as well as provide a database for genetic and clinical data for Turkish cancer patients.  We are aiming at ultimately incorporating a Cancer Registry and Patient Monitoring form available online throughout Turkey, the legal aspects of which will need to be discussed in further detail with the Turkish Ministry of Health.

In collaboration with Biomedical Engineering Institute in Bogazici University, Istanbul, where I teach Bioinformatics as a part-time Adjunct Professor, we are also developing a computer-based model for breast cancer and the role of BRCA1 in DNA damage signaling and transcription.  This study is also being developed into an Integrated Bioinformatics Project together with Biomedical Engineering Institute (signal processing of angiogenesis), Department of Chemical Engineering (metabolic models of breast cancer), and Department of Physics (computer model for tumor mass growth).
